Globle USA

About Globle USA

A geography game that started as a weekend project β€” and somehow got out of hand (in the best way).

Globle USA didn't start in a boardroom or a business plan. It started with a simple question: "Why can't I remember where Nebraska is?" Seriously. That's it. One embarrassing moment during a trivia night, and the idea was born.

How It All Started

Back in early 2025, like millions of other people, we were hooked on Wordle. That daily ritual of solving a word puzzle with just six tries β€” it was perfect. Then we discovered Globle, the geography version where you guess countries. It was brilliant, but there was a gap: nothing like it existed just for the United States.

And honestly? Most Americans (ourselves included) are worse at US geography than we'd like to admit. A 2023 survey by the Council on Foreign Relations found that only 36% of Americans could locate all 50 states on a blank map. That stat stuck with us.

So we built it. The first version was rough β€” just a colored SVG map and a text input. We shared it with a few friends, and the response was encouraging. People kept coming back to improve their geography and compare results with family and friends.

That's when we realized this wasn't just a game. It was actually helping people learn something, and they were having fun doing it.

What We've Built Since Then

What started as a single page with a map has grown into a full learning platform. Here's what you can do on Globle USA today:

🌍

Daily Globle Challenge

One mystery state per day. Same state for every player worldwide. Guess using distance and color clues on the map. It's addictive β€” we won't apologize for that.

πŸ—ΊοΈ

Interactive Map Quiz

Click directly on states to identify them. Three modes: Classic (no timer), Timed (60 seconds), and Survival (one wrong answer and you're out).

🧩

Connections Game

Group 16 words into 4 hidden categories. We add new puzzles regularly. Some are geography-themed, others are just fun brain teasers.

πŸ“š

Learning Library

In-depth articles on US geography, state histories, regional cultures, and more. Written to actually teach you something, not just fill a page.

Our Journey So Far

January 2025

The First Prototype

A bare-bones state guessing game built in a single weekend. No styling, no dark mode, just a map and a dream.

March 2025

Daily Challenge Mode Added

We added the daily state feature so everyone plays the same puzzle. This is when people started sharing results and competing with friends.

June 2025

Map Quiz & Practice Mode

Players wanted more ways to practice, so we built a full interactive map quiz with timed and survival modes.

September 2025

Blog & Educational Content

We started writing articles about US geography, history, and culture. The idea was to give players context for the states they're guessing.

December 2025

Connections Game Launch

Our word grouping puzzle game launched. It quickly became a player favorite alongside the daily Globle challenge.

2026

Growing Every Week

New blog articles, state guides, and game improvements shipping regularly. A lot more is coming.

Why This Matters to Us

We're not trying to replace textbooks or compete with big education companies. We just think that learning where states are β€” and knowing a little about their history and culture β€” is something that should be fun, not a chore.

Geography literacy matters more than people realize. Understanding where places are gives you context for news events, helps you plan road trips, makes you better at trivia nights, and honestly just makes you a more informed person. The fact that you can pick up all of that from a 2-minute daily game? That's worth building.

We especially enjoy hearing from players who use the site to study state locations, review capitals, or make classroom warm-ups a little more interactive. Feedback like that keeps us improving the project.

Who Makes This?

Globle USA is a small, independent project. We're not a big company β€” just a small team of people who care about geography education and enjoy building web games. We handle everything ourselves: the game development, the content writing, the design, and keeping the servers running.

We're based online and work remotely. Every article on this site is researched and written by our team. Every game feature comes from player feedback and our own ideas. We don't have investors or a marketing department. What you see is the result of genuine effort from people who enjoy what they're building.

What's Coming Next

We're not done β€” not even close. Here's some of what we're working on:
