Learning Strategies That Actually Work

Most schools teach geography through "drill and kill" methods that lead to forgetting everything the week after the test. We advocate for Contextual Learning. Here is how you should really study:

1. The Mnemonic Method

A mnemonic is a memory device that helps you link new information to something you already know. For example, to remember the Great Lakes from West to East, use the phrase: "Super Man Helps Every One" (Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, Ontario). In our resources, we provide dozens of these "memory hacks" to make the map intuitive.

2. Spaced Repetition (The Globle Strategy)

Don't cram for four hours on a Sunday. Instead, spend 5 minutes every morning playing a round of USA Map Quiz. By consistently recalling the information over several days, your brain moves that data from short-term to long-term "hard drive" memory. This is why our games are designed for daily play.

3. Regional Clustering

Instead of trying to learn all 50 states alphabetically, learn them in their natural clusters. Start with the "New England 6," then move to the "Mid-Atlantic," "The Rust Belt," etc. When you learn them as a group, you understand their spatial relationship—which is exactly what you need to win at our geography games.

For the Classroom: Educators' Toolkit

We work with educators across the country to provide high-quality, free materials for Social Studies and Geography classes. Here is how you can use us in your curriculum:

Interactive Assessment

Instead of a traditional paper quiz, assign one round of the "Classic" map quiz. Students can take a screenshot of their final "Attempt Count" and "Accuracy Score." It's low-pressure for the student but provides high-quality data for the teacher on who knows their map and who needs more help.

The "Mystery State" Writing Prompt

After finding the Daily Mystery State, have your students write a "Quick Fact" about that state based on our Fun Facts Guide. This bridges the gap between simple location recognition and deeper historical understanding.

The Globle USA Philosophy

We believe geography is the ultimate "Soft Skill." In a globalized world, understanding the physical and cultural landscape of the United States makes you a better citizen, a more informed voter, and a more effective communicator. Whether you're here to win a game or score an A+ on your next test, we are proud to be your learning partner.
